When you’re in the business of people and content, there is no down time. But because I built this business with my best friend from the ground up, I don’t mind working hard and (as I’m fond of saying) hustling like I’m broke. Our company is a daily reminder that hard work and dedication do pay off. Our business is bicoastal, which means that hard work sometimes involves hopping on a plane in the morning, going to a meeting in the afternoon, and then turning around and heading back to L.A. at night. Whenever and wherever I need to travel, I always make sure I have a few of my creature comforts with me.
A great pair of headphones. Master & Dynamic makes a great set of earphones. I love the lightweight MW07 GO True Wireless Earphones, which are small enough to toss in my handbag but sturdy enough to withstand a workout, too. For longer flights, I take the MW65 Active Noise-Cancelling Wireless Headphones which are super comfortable to wear to listen to music, to watch in-flight movies, or to just take a quick power nap.
A perfect-size travel bag. I love the Westbury Luggage from Collection By Michael Strahan. Offered in gray or navy, the collection has three sizes for whatever kind of trip I’m taking: the 21-inch is ideal for carrying on for an overnight jaunt, while the 29-inch version has enough room for me to pack what I need for a week’s worth of meetings and dinners.
Cozy (and chic) pants. There’s nothing worse than sitting on a plane in uncomfortable pants, so I have a closet full of bottoms from Pam & Gela to choose from (they’re sold at my favorite store, Jami Lyn, too). I love the track pants and the joggers—they’re cozy but in a cool, sexy way.
Ways to hydrate. Hydration is key not only for staying healthy, but for keeping your skin looking good, too. The air on planes is notoriously stale and dry, so I always drink a ton of water when I’m traveling: I like Aquahydrate and bring as many bottles as I can carry onto the plane. I also travel barefaced (no makeup!) so my pores don’t get clogged. I also carry the basic products from my skincare regimen, so I can freshen up and moisturize as needed: an undereye cream (like this one from Neocutis), Augustinus Bader Rich Cream for my face, and Jai of Beverly Hills face wash and scrub.
Good snacks. This is key because I often find the junk they give you on the plane isn’t so good for you. My snack go-to’s include, in no particular order: a Starbucks Unsweetened Iced Green Tea, Blue Diamond Salt ‘n Vinegar almonds, and Hippeas Vegan White Cheddar puffs.
