Adam Blackstone is one of the busiest guys in the music business—he was just nominated for his Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction for the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show with Justin Timberlake and he’s fresh off of the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards where he was the musical director of the first-ever VMA Push Stage—but he also makes time for the really important stuff, too. —M.S.
Today alone, more than 4,500 people will be diagnosed with cancer—and their lives will be changed forever. Most people have been affected in some way by this disease, whether they have a friend or family member who’s battled it or if they’ve fought it themselves. And that’s why it’s so important for me to support organizations like Stand Up To Cancer. Stand Up To Cancer funds and develops the newest and most promising cancer treatments to help patients right now. They connect top scientists in unprecedented collaborations to create breakthroughs in the fight to find a cure, and these innovations lead to better prevention, diagnosis, and treatment—which can save lives, too.
On Friday, September 7, Stand Up To Cancer hosts its sixth live broadcast fundraising event. Along with me as the musical director of the entire event, there’ll be an awesome list of talent, including Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey, Keith Urban, Katie Couric, Jennifer Garner, and co-executive producer and Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper. It’s a really amazing evening for an important cause and the more people who watch and become involved with this organization, the closer we will get to finding a cure.
