Off the Leash: Keeping Your Dog Entertained

Most days, Enzo comes everywhere with me: to the ABC studios, on the plane when I head to L.A. for Fox NFL Sunday, even when I go out for lunch with friends. We spend a lot of time together, so I’m always looking for ways to keep things fun and active—for both of us. It also helps Enzo to keep busy (and not become destructive) when I’m away. Now, Enzo loves a toy, and we’ve been through just about everything in the pet store. Here are a few of our favorites:

Starmark Treat Dispensing Bob-a-Lot Toy: Just like my dad made me work my butt off to earn that bike when I was 10, I like to make Enzo hustle a little for his treats. This Bob-a-Lot toy can be filled with treats or kibble, and you can adjust the opening to control how many treats it releases at a time. Enzo paws, pushes, nudges, and chases it all over the house which is great because there’s nothing better than a happy, tired dog at the end of the day.

Conscious Pets Milo Activation BallThis one is good for hours of entertainment. Enzo loves letting his nose do the work as he follows the ball’s random movements and I just love watching his reactions! Also, for those days when the weather’s too miserable to go for a long walk (or I’ve had a long week and just need to curl up on the couch), the Milo Activation Ball definitely helps to alleviate the boredom because it keeps Enzo occupied.

Furbo Dog Treat Camera: I’m not sure who has more fun with this thing: Enzo or me! If you’re a dog lover, you’re going to love this little gizmo. Because I’m gone a lot during the day, I like to keep up with Enzo—and keep him entertained while I’m away. The Furbo interactive camera lets you see, talk, and toss treats to your dog right from your phone. Enzo loves it when he hears the “clicking sound” and knows there’s a treat coming his way. (You can fill it with more than 100 treats and “play” catch with your pet, too).

Bark Box Subscription: Who doesn’t love getting a surprise in the mail? Well, Enzo does and I think it’s fun, too, when the BarkBox of the month arrives and we get to unpack all of its fun treats and toys. When you sign up, you answer a few questions about your furry sidekick and then choose a subscription plan (12, 6, or a monthly plan). Each box contains two toys, 2 bags of treats, and one chew tailored to your dog’s tastes.
