Style Session: Victoria’s Holiday Looks

The winter holiday-party season has arrived and with it, a different event for every night of the week. We all know that finding the right outfit can be as hard to nail down as this year’s hottest gift to give (like the new Apple iPhone Xs). So, we called on our style maven Victoria with a few of the most common holiday occasions—and ideas for how to solve that “now what do I wear?” problem.

Winter formal

When it’s time to get dressed up for a night out decking the halls, the fashion formula is simple: go with a good suit, a dress shirt, a festive tie, and dress shoes and you’re covered. I love the unexpected texture in this grey Collection by Michael Strahan Classic Fit suit and this Debonair suit jacket and pants by Ted Baker.

Office-party casual

This is a question I get a lot: “What do I wear to my office party?” My answer: keep it simple, sleek, and skip the Santa costume. Dark denim, a structured sport coat or this Collection by Michael Strahan sueded blazer, button-down, and boots (like these Moccasin Chukkas from my Michael go-to, John Varvatos).

Getting merry with friends

Across the board, my favorite look is always a blazer, white dress shirt, and jeans—you can’t go wrong! You can add a little bit of flair to this classic ensemble with a bomber jacket (I’ve been making some in suiting fabric for a dressier vibe) or a beautiful knit top and a leather jacket, like this Varvatos Moto jacket.

Christmas style with the S.O.’s family

Keep it clean, crisp, yet casual: a good T-shirt (Michael loves the knit V-neck tees by Robert Barakett) under a blazer with a cool sneaker, loafer, or boot.
