Snoop Dogg and I have known each other for a long time and he is one remarkable guy: an entertainment icon, Grammy-nominated musician, TV game-show host (Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker’s Wild) and co-host (Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party), F.O.M. (Friend of Martha Stewart), and now he can officially add cookbook author to the list: Snoop’s first cookbook, From Crook to Cook, in partnership with Chronicle Books, will drop on Tuesday, October 23.
Snoop Dogg first showed the world his cooking chops when he guest-starred on Martha Stewart’s show, Martha, in 2008. The dynamic duo are now appearing in their Emmy-nominated Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1, which is currently airing its second season.
“You know it’s blazin’ up in my kitchen,” Snoop Dogg says about From Crook to Cook’s upcoming release. “I’m takin’ the cookbook game higher with a dipped-and-whipped collection of my favorite recipes, ya dig?”
And I can’t wait to see what The Doggfather’s cooking up for us: Organized by meals and occasions, From Crook to Cook includes recipes that range from O.G. (translation: “Original Gangster”) staples like Baked Mac and Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, and Baby-back Ribs, to upper-echelon fare such as Lobster Thermidor and Filet Mignon. Weeknight favorites like Soft-flour Tacos and Chicken Caesar Salad will have readers turning to Snoop every day of the week. And of course, the book would not be complete without a “Gin and Juice” recipe and delicious, cannabis-free snacks to satisfy those munchies.
