Drumroll, please: Sara Haines made her debut on $100,000 Pyramid, last night on ABC, and I was there to see her in all her smiling, game-night-loving, hugging-and-high-fiving, crazy-competitive glory.
With so many of the celebrity guests who join me on Pyramid, we haven’t seen each other in months, sometimes even years, and it’s always great to spend time catching up with them. In this case, however, Sara walks in and we start gabbing like we haven’t seen each other in forever—even though we’d been on the GMA Strahan & Sara set, like, six hours earlier.
As far as how Sara actually is playing the game, I gotta say … she wasn’t that good. Just kidding! She was actually pretty incredible at Pyramid and I was impressed with her game (don’t tell her I said that or it might go to her head). Something you might not know about Sara is she’s ultra-competitive … and her opponent James Van Der Beek might never be the same. But when the competition is over, win or lose, Sara shakes hands with (and occasionally hugs) the other team and moves on. She is the epitome of good sportsmanship and an even better teammate.
But seriously, having Sara on the show was so much fun and she’s exactly what you see on TV: She brightens up a room with her smile and laughter wherever she goes. Take a look at the video below for a behind-the-scenes look at Sara’s episode. Ribbit!
Don’t forget to tune into $100,000 Pyramid every Sunday on ABC, at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CT.
