In my professional career, I’ve gotten the chance to meet a lot of really great people—and even all these years later, I still find myself getting a little starstruck sometimes. Which is what happened when I was interviewed by the former golf pro and two-time Emmy-nominated host David Feherty for the season finale of his show, Feherty, which airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel.
This was the first time I was interviewed by David and I was really excited when he asked me to come on. We met for the first time at the shoot, but I’ve been a huge fan of his show for a while; for so long, in fact, that it seems like we’ve known each other for years instead of just a couple of hours. On each episode, David sits down with celebrities from across entertainment, sports, and politics who love golf as much (or maybe more) than I do, including four U.S. Presidents, sports legends, Hollywood icons, and World Golf of Fame members. (He’s got a knack for getting all of the great golfers on his show, so I’m hoping their golf games will rub off on me!)
As you can imagine, it was a real honor to finally be able to sit down and talk to him myself—and we covered a little bit of everything: golf, football, a few projects I have going on (like my clothing company). At the end of the shoot, I hooked him up with a suitcase from my collection that was full of MSX by Michael Strahan clothing. I want him to be comfortable when those blazers and vests come off and I hope the gift helped.
